Nowadays I’m longing for summer vacation. This year I’m spending three weeks in my summer paradise: Mariefred, Sweden. And I really can’t wait!

While reminiscing I realised that I haven’t shown anything from last years trip:

Mikke was only a puppy back then, about 4-5 months old. This was his first meeting with the water. This year I’m hoping he’ll learn how to swim!

Every year, late July, there’s a medieval festival taking place. In a way silly, but it’s not a big town and there’s not that much happening. So I think it is nice to walk around, to look at people and eat some “burnt almonds”. And it’s almost a tradition!

Several nights we saw our new “neighbors”. Apparently there are about 2000 wild boars in the area atm.

A definite tradition is our several flea market trips around the area. This is Qvartinge, one of my favourite places. I rarely find anything there as it is quite pricey and I really don’t have a place for big furniture, but it is so exciting walking around looking at all the treasures. They even have a own section for 50s/60s furniture/stuff. I love it!

Once I found a light blue Gefyr (Stig Lindberg) which I bought just because of the need of buying something and I really don’t regret it! Today it is one of my favourite pieces.

Several times I’ve bought old almanacs (19th-century) and old photographs for graphic projects. And I’ve been looking at these several times as well. Maybe there could be something to frame and hang on the wall?

While rummaging around in the barn which is Qvartinge, we were phoned and asked to get back home. The reason was the heavy rain that day. In just a few hours our boat was full of water, the city became flooded and roads were washed away. Crazy!

And the next day Mariefred was on the front page of several newspapers!
